Facilities Services Manager

Location: Manchester, M2 3DE (with regular travel to Liverpool)

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Services Manager to oversee the delivery of integrated facilities services across two key corporate sites in Manchester and Liverpool.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Facilities Management business where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional workplace experiences, leading high-performing teams and building strong client relationships.

Reporting to the Regional Facilities Services Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Manchester site while providing leadership and support to the Facilities Services Coordinator at the Liverpool location. You'll ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standards.

Key Responsibilities

:

  • Leading the operational delivery of facilities management services across Manchester and Liverpool.
  • Managing and developing the Catering Lead, Cleaning Supervisor and Liverpool Facilities Services Coordinator.
  • Ensuring cleaning, catering, hospitality and workplace services consistently exceed contractual KPIs and service standards.
  • Acting as the primary operational contact for the client, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and performance reviews to drive service excellence.
  • Managing service partners, contractors and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Promoting a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with COSHH, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Managing budgets, labour, materials and supplier costs to deliver operational efficiency.
  • Supporting audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leading service recovery, incident management and business continuity where required.
  • Working closely with regional teams to share best practice and deliver a consistent customer experience across both locations.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced operational leader with:

  • Proven experience managing Facilities Management, Workplace Services or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across cleaning, catering, hospitality or workplace services.
  • Previous experience managing multiple sites or supporting geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of service delivery, KPIs, SLAs and operational performance management.
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation, compliance and risk management.
  • Experience managing budgets, labour costs, suppliers and operational expenditure.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and customer service skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and team development.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using facilities management and reporting systems.
  • The flexibility to travel regularly between Manchester and Liverpool.

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification (essential); NEBOSH or a higher-level qualification would be an advantage.
  • Membership of IWFM or another relevant professional body.
  • Food Safety qualification or experience supporting catering operations.
  • Experience managing facilities services within a corporate workplace or other high-profile environment.
  • Experience coordinating engineering services, specialist contractors and subcontractors.
  • Experience leading service improvements, mobilisations or workplace transformation projects.
