MAKE A SUCCESS OF YOUR JOB APPLICATION

PRACTICAL ADVICE TO HELP YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

You might be new to this process or a seasoned pro – either way, we’re here to help. We asked our recruitment team to offer their advice on how to get the most of our every stage

HINTS, TIPS AND THINGS TO REMEMBER

Learn about the role:

Read the job description carefully and consider if your skills and qualifications are a match. Maybe explore our values too, so you can show why you’d be a great fit.

Craft a strong CV:

Keep it up to date, neat and easy to read. Explain any gaps, too – you may have raised a family or travelled, and that’s fine. Mirror the language in the job description so it’s clear you fit the bill, and include any relevant certifications, like COSHH, that could make you stand out.

Include a Cover Letter:

Explain why you’re excited about this role and let your personality come through. Being authentic makes a difference, and we value applications from all backgrounds.

Double-check your details:

Fill in all the sections on our Online Application Portal carefully and make sure you upload the right documents (like your CV and Cover Latter) before you hit submit.

Shine in your interview:

Be punctual, presentable and above all, be yourself. We want to learn what motivates you and feel your enthusiasm for the role. Practice makes perfect, so maybe use the STAR method to share some examples of your teamwork, adaptability and problem-solving, explaining the Situation, Task, Action and Result every time.

Leave a lasting impression:

Show us what makes you unique and perhaps send a polite follow-up after applying or interviewing – it really does set the tone.

Ask us for help:

We’re here to support you all the way. There’s FAQs and a chatbot for technical issues and if you need reasonable adjustments or have any other questions, you can email us at recruitment.ukandie@sodexo.com.

Remember, every application is a step forward. Each one builds up experience and boosts your confidence for what comes next. We’re rooting for you!
