Assistant Facilities Manager

Sodexo is looking for an organised and customer-focused Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of workplace services at our client's Liverpool office.

This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships and ensuring a safe, compliant and welcoming workplace. Acting as Sodexo's main on-site representative, you'll coordinate facilities services, manage the local cleaning operation and ensure an excellent experience for colleagues and visitors.

The Role

Reporting to the Facilities Services Manager based in Manchester, you will take ownership of the daily operation at the Liverpool site. You'll directly manage the Cleaner, coordinate mobile engineers, contractors and suppliers, oversee workplace presentation and support the daily complimentary breakfast service.

You'll be the first point of contact for facilities-related matters, ensuring issues are resolved quickly while maintaining high standards of health, safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across the Liverpool office.
  • Act as Sodexo's principal on-site contact for clients, colleagues, contractors and suppliers.
  • Manage and support the on-site Cleaner, including work allocation, quality inspections and performance.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace presentation.
  • Coordinate the daily complimentary breakfast service, ensuring products are stocked, presented and maintained to food safety standards.
  • Monitor breakfast stock levels, ordering and waste.
  • Coordinate visits from mobile engineers, contractors and specialist service providers.
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders and respond professionally to service requests.
  • Carry out workplace inspections and report maintenance, health and safety or compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, including inspections, contractor attendance, incidents and service requests.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support audits, emergency response arrangements and continuous service improvement.
  • Manage delegated site expenditure, consumables and operational resources.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an organised and proactive individual with experience in facilities or workplace services and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.

Essential

  • Experience in facilities management, workplace services, cleaning, hospitality or a similar environment.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers or operational services.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning operations, COSHH and workplace health and safety.
  • Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and solve problems effectively.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely or a similar health and safety qualification.
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Experience in a corporate workplace or client-facing environment.
  • Previous experience coordinating cleaning, contractors or workplace hospitality services.
  • Membership of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) or a similar professional body.
