  • Communicate work progress, operational impact, risks and follow-up requirements to the relevant teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce repeat defects
  • Complete relevant training and competency assessments
  • Support emergency or out-of-hours work where required

What you'll bring

  • A recognised apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent practical qualification in an engineering, building-services or building-trade discipline
  • Practical experience in a multi-trade building maintenance or facilities environment
  • Experience fault finding and carrying out safe, hands-on repairs
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Good awareness of your own competence and when to escalate to specialist support
  • Ability to work independently, plan your workload and meet deadlines
  • IT literacy, including email, Microsoft applications and a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work at height, in restricted areas and outdoors, subject to training and site requirements
  • Flexibility to support emergency or out-of-hours work where required

Desirable

  • Electrical or mechanical maintenance bias with supporting trade certification
  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety training
  • Experience with contractor supervision and permit-to-work systems
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing, healthcare or similarly controlled environment
  • Additional competence in plumbing, joinery, fabric maintenance, HVAC support or minor works
