Office Services Operative – Security Officer

As a Security Officer with Sodexo, you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our client, customers and visitors.

Reporting to the Office Services Supervisor / Sodexo Operations Manager, you’ll support the delivery of security services across the site, ensuring all security, statutory, contractual and company requirements are followed.

This is a customer-focused role where you’ll need to remain calm under pressure, communicate confidently and respond effectively to security issues and emergencies.

What you’ll do

  • Provide a professional, friendly and helpful security service at all times
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security issues, incidents and emergencies
  • Keep customers informed and reassured during emergency situations
  • Support contractors and visitors, ensuring site procedures and policies are followed
  • Liaise with statutory authorities when required and provide relevant information
  • Monitor site radio systems and follow correct radio procedures
  • Maintain accurate site records, including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms and the Site Occurrence Book
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to the management team on service delivery
  • Develop excellent working relationships with on-site customers
  • Identify and support effective solutions and corrective actions where required
  • Support wider onsite services including Reception, Mailroom, Portering, Meeting Room Setup, Help Desk, Gardening and Waste Management
  • Maintain a smart and professional appearance in line with site uniform requirements
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the needs of the business

What you’ll bring

  • SIA Front Line Guarding Licence – essential
  • CCTV Licence – essential
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and take responsibility
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • A customer-focused and helpful approach
  • A smart and professional appearance
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and management

A professional or further qualification in Security Management and/or a Customer Service Qualification would be desirable.
