Job Introduction
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a team of engineering technicians on a client site.
You’ll supervise maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required engineering standards. You’ll also play a key role in troubleshooting faults, supporting planned maintenance and minimising disruption to the client’s core operations.
What you’ll do
- Supervise and support a team of engineering technicians.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to assets and equipment.
- Plan, undertake and supervise routine planned maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance activities meet relevant legislation, regulations and best practice standards.
- Supervise like-for-like asset replacements and minor new works.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and faults promptly to minimise operational disruption.
- Build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Guide, mentor and support team members and apprentices.
- Monitor the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed and maintained.
- Support team performance, workload planning and delivery against deadlines.
- Follow Helpdesk procedures and contribute to service improvements.
What you bring
- Practical engineering skills and strong knowledge of engineering standards and compliance.
- Experience working in and supervising a technical maintenance environment.
- Experience supervising teams in relation to Health & Safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues and team members.
- IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Helpdesk procedures and maintenance workflows.
- Experience working with safe systems of work and supervising others in their use.
- An engineering qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or above.
