Job Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of Soft Facilities Management services across our HMRC Telford site.
You will have operational responsibility for ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly, efficiently and to the required standards, while working closely with the Hard FM and wider operations teams.
The role requires a strong leader with excellent client management, people management and commercial awareness, alongside an understanding of Technical Services.
What you’ll do
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of Soft FM services across the site.
- Ensure all services meet contractual, statutory, Health & Safety and quality requirements.
- Manage, coach and develop teams to deliver high standards of service.
- Monitor service performance, KPIs, audits and compliance.
- Manage budgets, costs and resources effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Support the Hard FM team with an understanding of technical services.
- Ensure the site remains audit-ready and compliant.
- Oversee risk assessments, safe systems of work, contractor controls and site procedures.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement, innovation and efficiency.
- Ensure appropriate training, documentation and processes are in place.
- Respond effectively to incidents, operational issues and changing business requirements.
What you bring
Essential
- Previous Facilities Management experience, ideally across both Soft and Hard Services.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- Good commercial and financial awareness, including budget management.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against contractual requirements.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance and operational standards.
Desirable
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Authorising Person qualification in a relevant trade discipline.
- Risk Assessment qualification.
- ISO Standards Internal Auditor certification.
- Previous Hard FM experience.
