We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Tutor to join our Education, Skills and Work team. This is an opportunity to work directly with prisoners at the beginning of their journey, helping them understand their strengths, identify opportunities and create realistic goals for education, skills, employment and resettlement.
As an IAG Tutor, you’ll be one of the first people many prisoners meet when they arrive at HMP Peterborough. Your support can help them take those important first steps towards positive change.
You’ll provide high-quality information, advice and guidance through a combination of one-to-one support and group work.
You’ll be someone who genuinely wants to help others progress. You’ll have the ability to build positive relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, while maintaining professional boundaries and working effectively in a challenging environment.
Don't worry if you don't have every desirable qualification or experience. What matters most is your ability to engage people, identify their potential and support them to take positive steps forward.
HMP Peterborough is the UK's first purpose-built prison to house both men and women on the same site. As a resettlement-focused establishment, we provide a wide range of educational, vocational and behavioural programmes, alongside workshops, accredited training and employment opportunities.
Our Education, Skills and Work teams play an important role in helping prisoners develop the knowledge, qualifications, confidence and practical skills they need for life beyond custody.
As an IAG Tutor, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference every day — helping people recognise their potential, overcome barriers and prepare for a more positive future.
