We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join the Facilities Management team at HMP & YOI Bronzefield in Ashford, Surrey. This is a practical, site-based role supporting statutory, legislative and mandatory electrical maintenance across a busy and highly regulated prison environment.
You will carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, diagnose faults, complete testing and repairs, and deliver like-for-like replacements and minor new works. You will help maintain the safe and reliable operation of critical electrical and building services, while working closely with the wider Facilities Management team, contractors and site management.
HMP & YOI Bronzefield is a closed local prison and the largest female prison in the UK and Europe. The establishment supports a diverse population and provides a range of facilities including residential units, healthcare, workshops, a gym, library, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen facilities.
The role may offer the opportunity to work towards formal appointment as a Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP), subject to site requirements, successful training and assessment, and formal appointment.
This role requires you to work within a live prison environment. You will need to follow strict safety and security procedures and work with care, professionalism and respect in every interaction.
Sodexo operates with three core values: Be Positive, Be Courageous and Be the Difference. We encourage our people to create hope and respect in every interaction, safely challenge behaviours that do not support a positive environment, and take meaningful action to improve outcomes for those in our care.
Every interaction matters, and you will play an important role in supporting a safe, secure and well-maintained establishment.
Appointment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and Enhanced Level 2 (EL2) prison security clearance, as well as completing standard pre-employment checks. We will support the successful candidate through the clearance process.
