About the role

Hospitality Supervisor

At Sodexo, we know great hospitality is about more than silver service — it’s about energy, organisation, teamwork and creating experiences people remember.

We’re looking for a confident and hands-on Hospitality Supervisor to join our team at Wellington College, one of the UK’s leading independent schools. This is a fast-paced hospitality role where no two days are the same. One day you could be supervising a formal dinner or VIP event, and the next supporting busy student dining operations or leading a team through multiple hospitality functions across site.

If you enjoy leading people, thrive in busy environments and take pride in delivering high standards, this could be the perfect role for you.

The Role

Hospitality Supervisor:

Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire RG45 7PU
40 Hours Per Week | 5 Days Out of 7
Flexibility required around hospitality and event schedules
Competitive Salary + Excellent Sodexo Benefits

Located within the stunning grounds of Wellington College, this role offers the opportunity to work in a truly unique environment with high-profile events, conferences, formal functions and premium hospitality experiences.

This is not a desk-based supervisor role — we’re looking for somebody who enjoys being operationally involved, leading from the front and supporting the team to deliver excellent hospitality every day.

What Does Day-to-Day Look Like?

As Hospitality Supervisor, you’ll oversee the smooth running of hospitality and catering operations across the College.

Your day could include:

  • Leading hospitality teams during events, conferences and formal dining functions
  • Setting up hospitality areas and ensuring all functions are event-ready
  • Delivering team briefings before service
  • Supporting food and beverage service during busy operations
  • Liaising with clients before and after events
  • Ensuring allergen procedures, food safety and health & safety standards are followed at all times
  • Supporting with stock ordering, drinks control and hospitality administration
  • Completing function sheets, emails, event updates and operational paperwork
  • Motivating and developing team members throughout service
  • Problem solving and responding quickly to operational challenges
  • Working closely with the Hospitality Manager and wider catering team to ensure smooth delivery across site
  • This is a busy, hands-on role that requires strong organisation, attention to detail and a calm approach under pressure.

What we're Looking For

We’re looking for somebody who is:

  • Confident supervising teams in busy hospitality environments
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable leading services and communicating with clients
  • Passionate about high standards and customer service
  • Flexible and proactive with a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working operationally as part of the team

Essential

  • Previous experience within hospitality, catering, events or food service
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and time management ability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergens, COSHH and HACCP procedures
  • Computer literate and confident completing administration tasks
  • Ability to problem solve and use initiative
  • Flexible approach to working hours and business needs
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates

Desirable

  • Experience supervising hospitality or catering teams
  • Hospitality or events experience within schools or education environments
  • Knowledge of current hospitality trends
  • Driving licence
