Hours: 40 hours a week
Working Pattern: 5 out of 7 days

As a Hospitality Chef with Sodexo at Wellington College, you’ll play a key role in preparing and creating dishes for bespoke hospitality events across the campus site. This is not your typical high-volume kitchen role — you’ll be delivering quality fine dining experiences for a variety of occasions, from Master’s Lodge dinners for students, to exclusive House dinners and special hospitality events.

Working within one of the UK’s most prestigious educational settings, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for food in a role where quality and presentation truly matter. You’ll work alongside a talented team in a supportive environment with no unsociable late-night hours and public holidays off, including Christmas.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality hospitality food for bespoke events and functions across the campus
  • Support the delivery of private dinners, boarding house events, and exclusive hospitality occasions
  • Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to exceptional standards
  • Oversee food replenishment and maintain clean, organised kitchen and service areas
  • Support, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to create a positive and professional team culture
  • Assist in managing labour, food, and stock costs effectively
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation, and customer service
  • Contribute ideas towards menu development and seasonal hospitality offerings
  • Carry out regular checks to ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

What You Bring:

Essential

  • Experience cooking within professional hospitality or high-quality catering environments
  • Experience preparing fresh food to a high standard with strong attention to presentation
  • Ability to work confidently under pressure during busy services and events
  • Previous experience supervising or supporting kitchen teams
  • Strong understanding of fresh produce, ingredient preparation, and food quality
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering excellent customer experiences
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong communication skills

  • At least one year of hands-on cooking experience (Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety provided)
