Salary:

Up to £36,000 per annum + excellent Sodexo benefits
Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7

At LVS Ascot, we are proud to provide an outstanding educational environment where excellence is expected in every aspect of school life — including the dining experience we deliver to our pupils, staff, parents and visitors.

In partnership with Sodexo, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Deputy Catering Manager to support the leadership of our busy and professional catering operation. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, high standards and a passion for delivering exceptional food service within a prestigious independent school environment.

Working closely with the Catering & Events Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of catering services, hospitality operations and compliance standards across the site.

The Role

As Deputy Catering Manager, you will support the effective management of all catering and hospitality services, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, customer service and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.

You will also deputise in the absence of the Catering & Events Manager, taking full operational responsibility when required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the management and supervision of the catering operation in line with client expectations and Sodexo standards
  • Leading, motivating and developing catering teams to deliver an exceptional dining experience
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and health & safety compliance
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring all relevant training is completed and recorded
  • Managing hospitality and event catering operations, including production, service and clear down
  • Ensuring all dietary requirements and allergen controls are managed with due care and attention
  • Supporting payroll administration, stock control, invoice processing and financial reporting
  • Assisting with stock takes, sales recording and system administration using EprophIT
  • Building strong working relationships with front and back of house teams, school stakeholders and clients
  • Driving service improvements, operational efficiency and high-performance standards throughout the department

About You

We are looking for a confident and professional catering leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding standards.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within catering, hospitality or food service
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience managing compliance within food safety and health & safety frameworks
  • Good financial and administrative awareness
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • High standards of professionalism, attention to detail and customer care

Experience within education, independent schools or high-volume hospitality environments would be advantageous.
