About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team in Stevenage SG1 2DA, You will play an important role in maintaining high service standards across the facility, ensuring members and customers have an enjoyable and professional experience.

The role includes supporting gym operations, assisting with classes, maintaining equipment, and helping to uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the Club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the overall management and smooth operation of the Club, ensuring high standards of service and customer care.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, policies, risk assessments, and COSHH procedures, promoting a safe environment at all times.
  • Oversee the gym area, ensuring equipment is safe, well maintained, and any faults are reported and addressed promptly.
  • Ensure all members are correctly screened, inducted, and provided with suitable fitness programmes that are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Assist with class scheduling and timetable reviews to ensure activities meet customer requirements and operational needs.
  • Maintain excellent customer focus, resolving queries and feedback in a positive and professional manner.
  • Work within agreed budgets, support income and sales targets, and ensure accurate handling and security of takings.
  • Contribute positively as part of the team, supporting training, development, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across the facility.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking other reasonable duties to support the Club’s objectives and performance standards.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 2 Fitness Qualification.
  • Level 3 Personal Training Qualification.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent customer focus.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • High standards of personal presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Numerate and computer literate.

Desirable:

  • Yoga and/or Pilates qualifications.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing fitness environment.
