Barista - Dublin 1

As a Barista at Sodexo Dublin, you’ll support the preparation and serving of our vibrant meals & beverages and ensure that all work areas are kept glistening. What you’ll do: 

• Ensure hygiene maintenance of all aspects of the coffee shops & service areas. Clean and sanitise equipment and workstations before, during & after service
• Support with making hot beverages in our coffee shops
• Help prepare, serve and replenish food from counters such hot plates, deli bar, breakfast bars, pastry display and break down stations at the end of meal periods
• Interact with customers in the serving, retail, and dining areas  
• Assist with deliveries and replenishing stock (First in, first out)
• Lead the team in ensuring all counters are ready for service – allergen documents are in place, utensils & display equipment in place, staff are appropriately dressed in clean uniform with no jewellery (please reference personal hygiene policy), correct menus etc are on display, seating area is clean
• Support Manager, supervisor or head chef with kitchen requirements when requested to support with an efficient service
• Mange till system in restaurant and ensure compliance with all payments where required
• Manage staff breaks with business needs in mind and ensure service counters are covered accordingly especially during busier periods
• Mentor new starters & agency relief staff in their role onsite and ensure induction training is completed before they work so they have the Sodexo knowledge
• Mentor junior members of the team to ensure they are compliant to Sodexo and business needs

What you bring

• Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others
• Customer service skills / engagement
• Full barista training
• Basic food-handling skills – deli preparation, food presentation on plates etc
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Willing to learn new skills
• Work experience required
