As a Barista at TU Dublin Lowerhouse, you will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the campus coffee and catering service. You will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, hot and cold beverages, and light food items while providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This is a fast-paced role that requires good communication skills, attention to detail, flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

What you'll do

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano, and other speciality drinks.

• Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other beverage preparation equipment safely and efficiently.

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.

• Take customer orders, operate tills, and handle cash and card transactions accurately.

• Prepare, display, and serve sandwiches, pastries, snacks, and other food items.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at the coffee station and service areas.

• Clean and maintain coffee machines, utensils, and other equipment.

• Replenish coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies throughout the day.

• Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness, and Health & Safety procedures.

• Ensure food and beverages are presented to a high standard.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.

• Assist with stock control, receiving deliveries, and storing supplies correctly.

• Support the wider catering team with additional duties as required.

What you'll bring

• Previous experience working as a barista or in a food and beverage service environment.

• Knowledge of coffee preparation and different coffee beverages.

• Good customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.

• Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude.

• Ability to operate coffee machines, grinders, and tills.

• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and workplace safety.

• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
