Technical Project Manager

London, NW1 6AA

At Sodexo, we’re passionate about our people. We know that our teams are the key to delivering exceptional service and creating meaningful experiences for our clients, customers, and employees.

We are looking for an experienced and technically credible Technical Project Manager to join our team and lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and infrastructure projects within a critical, live financial services environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring a confident and articulate engineering professional who can challenge contractors, engage senior stakeholders, and take ownership of projects involving MEP systems, fit-outs, compliance upgrades, resilience programmes, and infrastructure improvements.

Join our team and play a key role in delivering excellence and innovation in Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services.

As a Technical Project Manager

you'll:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, including MEP installations, fit-outs, refurbishment works, compliance programmes, and critical infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide strong technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring engineering solutions are fit for purpose, compliant, and operationally resilient.
  • Act as the technical authority on projects, confidently engaging with consultants, contractors, engineers, and client stakeholders.
  • Ensure all works comply with statutory legislation and industry best practice, including CDM 2015, Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety Order, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Manage project risks, commissioning activities, quality assurance inspections, and technical sign-off processes.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring engineering standards, safety requirements, and programme commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Control project budgets, schedules, and reporting, providing clear and accurate updates to senior leadership teams.
  • Apply site knowledge and lessons learned from previous engineering projects to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What we're looking for

  • A technically qualified engineering professional with significant experience managing MEP, building services, fit-out, infrastructure, and compliance-related projects.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering complex engineering projects within critical or highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrable expertise across mechanical, electrical, and public health systems, with the ability to confidently review designs, challenge technical solutions, and make informed engineering decisions.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in live operational environments where business continuity and resilience are paramount.
  • Strong working knowledge of statutory compliance requirements, including CDM 2015, Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and Fire Safety legislation.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary contractors, consultants, and specialist supply chain partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage at all levels from engineers and contractors through to senior client representatives.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, risk registers, programmes, and lifecycle planning.
  • An articulate communicator who combines technical expertise with strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
