As a Security Officer at Colchester Hospital, you’ll play a key role in protecting patients, staff, visitors, and hospital facilities. No two days are the same, and each shift brings fresh challenges and real opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives.

Control the issuing of site access cards ensuring only permitted access is allowed.
Conduct swipe card access checks and report to client weekly as required
Handle external and internal calls in a timely manner
Receive/handle deliveries/post and distribute internally as appropriate
Franking of mail
Manage fire alarm systems.
Operate on-site weighbridge system and corresponding documentation.
Conduct site inductions
General administration duties as required
Advising site contacts when visitors are on site
Clear, concise report writing with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management, able to prioritise workloads and handle data accurately
Strong communication and negotiation skills; confident engaging with staff and customers at all levels
Customer-focused, proactive, and resilient; able to work at pace without compromising accuracy
Organised and adaptable, with knowledge of health & safety, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
Professional, flexible, physically capable of manual tasks, and holding a valid SIA licence
