Security Officer

Professional security role within a regulated corporate environment

We are seeking a professional and vigilant Security Officer to support site security operations at the Catalent facility in Didcot.

Catalent is a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology services provider. This role supports a highly regulated corporate and manufacturing environment where safety, compliance, and professionalism are essential.

The site operates as a controlled, closed facility. Routine public access is not permitted; however, authorised staff are present and visitors or contractors may attend periodically. You will ensure all access is managed in accordance with site security procedures.

The role will also involve interaction with visiting senior staff and stakeholders. A professional, approachable manner and strong communication skills are essential to ensure visitors are welcomed appropriately and supported during their time on site.

What you’ll do

  • Control access to site, ensuring staff, contractors, and visitors follow security procedures

  • Welcome and assist authorised visitors and senior staff in a professional and courteous manner

  • Monitor premises and security systems to maintain site safety and integrity

  • Conduct regular patrols to maintain a visible security presence

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies

  • Enforce site policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment

  • Complete incident reports, logs, and detailed shift handovers

  • Liaise with site teams and emergency services when required

What you’ll bring

  • A valid and current SIA Licence (essential)

  • Previous experience in corporate, industrial, or site security roles

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional approach

  • Ability to interact confidently with senior staff and visitors

  • Calm decision-making and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations

  • Understanding of security procedures and site compliance requirements
