About the role

Regional Operations Manager - Catering experience essential

Central Scotland (Multi-site) | Independent Schools

The role

This is a newly created position supporting a portfolio of independent school contracts across Scotland.

Working closely with the Senior Account Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring sites consistently deliver high standards of food, service and client experience. This is a varied, hands-on role combining operational support, client relationship management and continuous improvement across multiple locations.

You will be trusted to step into sites when needed, support and guide managers, and drive consistency across the region.

What makes this role different

This is not a desk-based support role. It offers:

  • Real variety across multiple sites and teams
  • Autonomy to manage your own time and priorities
  • A visible role with direct impact on service delivery and client relationships
  • The opportunity to step into a broader, multi-site operational position within a well-established contract

It would suit someone looking to move from a single-site or senior unit role into a wider operational position.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Account Manager in delivering operational performance across multiple school sites
  • Build strong, credible relationships with clients and site teams
  • Provide on-site operational support and cover where required
  • Drive improvements in service standards, processes and team performance
  • Support site managers with recruitment, performance management and team engagement
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding and food safety standards
  • Coordinate and share best practice across sites
  • Contribute to reporting, planning and performance tracking
  • Deputise for the Senior Account Manager when required

Location and travel

This is a multi-site role covering central Scotland, including Edinburgh, Perth, St Andrews and Ayrshire.

  • Regular travel between sites is required
  • Typically one day per week at Strathallan School (Perth)
  • Remaining time will vary depending on business needs
  • Hybrid working is available on a limited basis

About you

You will have experience in a catering or hospitality management role, ideally with exposure to multi-site or contract environments.

You will also bring:

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with clients and teams
  • A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to step in and support operations
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around compliance and reporting
  • Confidence using IT systems and reporting tools
  • A full driving licence is preferred due to the travel involved
