• However, flexibility may be required to cover other days including evening and weekend working to meet business needs

Job Description:

Are you an experienced Security Receptionist, Security Administrator or Pass Office professional looking to work within a secure Defence environment?

We are looking for a professional and detail-focused Security Receptionist to join our team at Portsmouth Naval Base, PO1 4QT. This is an important role supporting the security and access-control processes for personnel, contractors and visitors accessing the Naval Base.

You will be responsible for processing temporary ID passes, completing vetting applications and ensuring all security and access procedures are followed correctly and in line with MOD requirements.

Experience working within a military, MOD, Naval, Defence or other secure environment would be highly desirable. We would also welcome applications from candidates with experience in security reception, pass offices, access control, visitor management or security administration.

What you’ll do:

• Processing temporary ID passes for visitors to Portsmouth Naval Base, ensuring all relevant security checks are completed correctly.
• Managing security and vetting applications for contractors and subcontractors requiring access to the Naval Base.
• Ensuring all applications are completed accurately and processed in line with MOD and Naval Base requirements.
• Greeting visitors and personnel in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
• Managing the visitor and pass process efficiently, ensuring customers are dealt with within the required service timescales.
• Completing vetting applications and issuing passes to authorised personnel.
• Supporting the induction process and issuing T-cards as required.
• Booking chaperones through the relevant company system.
• Assisting security colleagues with administrative tasks and access-control processes.
• Raising any security concerns immediately with the appropriate authority personnel.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all relevant security procedures and site rules are followed.
• Completing thorough shift handovers and checking daily occurrence and incident reports.
• Maintaining excellent communication with colleagues, customers, clients and security personnel.
• Ensuring a high standard of professionalism and personal presentation is maintained at all times.
• Following all Sodexo policies and procedures, as well as local client and Naval Base security requirements.

What you bring:

• Previous experience in a security, security reception, pass office, access control or security administration role.
• Experience working within a military, MOD, Naval, Defence or other secure environment would be highly desirable.
• Experience dealing with visitors, contractors or personnel in a controlled-access environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict procedures and security standards.
• Good computer literacy and confidence using computer systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner.
• The ability to handle confidential and security-sensitive information appropriately
• Due to security requirements you must have been continuously resident in UK for last 5 years to apply for this position
