Join our dedicated team at Wythenshawe Hospital as a Mechanical Fitter, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing essential mechanical systems within a busy healthcare environment. We are seeking a skilled professional with experience in heating, chilled, ventilation, and BMS systems, who is committed to safety, quality, and technical excellence. If you have a proactive approach to fault finding, installation, and maintenance, and thrive in a dynamic setting, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for responding to and correctly filling out issued dockets for day to day tasks
  • Strong understanding of Heating, Chilled Systems, Ventilation, and BMS Systems within a healthcare environment

  • Skilled in installation, repair, fault finding, and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building energy management systems

  • Ability to work safely in compliance with health and safety regulations, including working at heights and using relevant tools and equipment

  • Capable of working independently, including on call duties and driving the company vehicle as required

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and commitment to health and safety standards

  • Proven ability to respond promptly to breakdowns and participate in scheduled response systems

What You Bring

  • NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and Building Services
  • Willing to learn and go on courses to add to current qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare or large, complex sites is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance or fitter role
  • Strong knowledge of heating, ventilation and mechanical systems
  • Confidence diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • A practical, reliable approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
