We are looking for a reliable and motivated Labourer to join our Defence & Government Services team at Worthy Down Barracks.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll support the delivery of high-quality site services by carrying out a range of general labouring, maintenance, and support tasks in a safe and professional manner.

If you enjoy practical work, take pride in maintaining high standards, and work well as part of a team, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out general labouring and semi-skilled tasks as directed.
  • Assist with minor maintenance and accommodation repairs using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Support the movement, assembly, and relocation of furniture and equipment.
  • Clean external areas including gutters, waste bins, and areas surrounding buildings.
  • Assist with stores operations, including receiving, dispatching, and moving materials.
  • Support recycling and waste management activities to promote effective environmental practices.
  • Help with seasonal duties such as snow clearance and gritting of footpaths.
  • Undertake ground-floor window cleaning and general site housekeeping.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and maintain accurate records where required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
  • Report hazards, near misses, faulty equipment, and accidents promptly.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH regulations and safe systems of work.
  • Comply with all security procedures, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Attend training, team briefings, and performance reviews as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Previous experience in a labouring or similar service industry role.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to health, safety, and customer service.

Desirable

  • CSCS Card (or equivalent).
  • Forklift Truck Licence.
  • Experience working within a military or defence environment.

What You Bring

  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Flexibility to work across different areas and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to delivering work to a high standard.
  • Excellent awareness of health, safety, and security requirements.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
