Job Introduction

Technical Operations Technician – HMP & YOI Bronzefield

HMP & YOI Bronzefield has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Technician to join our team!

About the Role

As the first point of contact for incidents within the prison’s IT department, you will prioritise and manage cases to successful resolution. You will assist Sodexo employees in using various networks, CCTV, alarm, and cell call systems, ensuring they operate equipment effectively. Where possible, you will resolve IT issues independently and collaborate with the Technical Operations Manager and Engineer to identify problems, find workarounds, and implement permanent solutions.

You will work proactively, developing and proposing changes to improve service delivery across all supported systems, including TV, CCTV, alarms, cell call, kiosks, and phone systems. Managing networks in compliance with IS&T Security and information assurance standards — including ISO27001, GDPR, MoJ, and SPS accreditation — will be essential.

About HMP & YOI Bronzefield

Bronzefield is the largest women’s prison in Europe, accommodating a diverse and complex population, including restricted status women requiring high security, women on remand often experiencing custody for the first time, and women with chronic mental health conditions.
