Small Works Estimator

Job Introduction

A great opening has become available for an experienced Small Works Estimator with an engineering or Hard FM background to join our team on the Greenwich University contract.

You will have excellent attention to detail, possess excellent analytical skills and have a building services engineering or facilities management hard services background.. You will also have great communication and stakeholder management skills.

We offer a salary of £33,000 - £38,000, a bonus, Sodexo employee benefits and great development and progression opportunities within Sodexo.

Role Responsibility

• Evaluate and clearly understand the details and requirements for each estimate, attend site visits where necessary and provide tender evaluation in line with current processes and strategy prior to estimation.
• Estimate the costs; labour, materials and sub-contractors required to achieve the specification, calculating any adjustments for overheads, profit, life expectancy cycle and contingency,
• Provide estimates on the completion of the project including milestones and completion rates through continual review.
• Obtain sub-contractor costs and evaluate the prices, negotiating with contractors and sub-contractors as required to provide meaningful costs in the agreed timeframe. 
• Through continual review of the tender document, be responsible for any changes from the original specification including preliminary pricings, time scales and any other changes as requested.
• Handover of tender package to the Operations Team on completion (win).
• Liaising with Site Engineering leads and their team, carryout the ordering of parts and spares in a timely manner.
• Raising, issuing, and receipting of Purchase Orders
• Project administration
• Keep up to date, all estimating packages including, Templates, tender logs etc
• Keep up to date with the latest estimator techniques and procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

• Time-Served Engineering Background and/or Hard FM background
• Customer-Focused
• A quick learner with the ability to self-motivate.
• Analytical but with the ability to think beyond or around a process.
• Ability to quickly assess the requirement, and then change dependent on new information.
• Good IT skills including Word and Excel
• Good time management and organisational skills are essential.
• Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Able to follow key management processes
