Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with weekend cover when required by business needs. 8-hour shifts between 07:00 and 18:30, with occasional evening cover.

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, professional and customer-focused Hospitality Assistant to join the Shell London Campus team.

You will support the delivery of a high-quality hospitality service to Shell employees, visitors and guests, ensuring food and beverage services, meeting rooms and functions are delivered to a consistently high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a friendly, professional and five-star hospitality service to Shell employees, visitors and guests, acting as an ambassador for Shell and Sodexo.
• Prepare, present and serve food and beverages, including supporting meetings, events, functions and special catering requirements.
• Set up, maintain, clear and clean food service areas, meeting rooms and allocated areas to the required standards.
• Replenish food, beverages and equipment, assist with stock control and minimise waste.
• Check daily booking and service requirements, ensuring all customer requests and meeting room needs are delivered accurately and on time.
• Use Shell systems, including Condeco, BlueRunner and AV, and provide basic support to users where required.
• Maintain accurate emails, diaries, reports, audits, due diligence and food safety records.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, personal presentation and customer service.
• Report complaints, compliments, accidents, near misses, fire, theft, loss, damage and maintenance or safety issues through the appropriate channels.
• Take ownership of allocated areas, ensuring a consistent five-star customer experience and identifying opportunities to improve service.
• Communicate and work effectively with colleagues, supervisors, managers and chefs, supporting a positive team environment.
• Support different departments and shifts, including occasional special functions outside normal working hours when required.
• Attend required training and team meetings and maintain knowledge of Shell locations, facilities and operations.
• Comply with all company, client and statutory requirements, including health and safety, food safety, hygiene, fire safety, COSHH and safe working practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, approachable and professional manner.
• Experience in food service, catering or hospitality.
• Previous food handling experience.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• High standards of personal hygiene and presentation.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good IT skills and computer literacy.
• A positive, can-do attitude and passion for delivering excellent customer service.

Desirable

• Previous reception, front-of-house or corporate hospitality experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience working in a standards-driven or compliance-focused environment.
• Flexibility to cover different shifts and departments, including occasional short-notice requirements.
