Enjoy working with people and being part of a busy team? Join Sodexo as a General Assistant at MOD Bicester, helping us deliver great food, friendly service and welcoming spaces for the people we support.
Catering and hospitality will be your main focus, including preparing and serving food and drinks, supporting functions and keeping our dining and service areas running smoothly.
You’ll also be required to support other units across the site as business needs arise, including retail outlets, general cleaning and accommodation cleaning. Flexibility to work across these services is an essential part of the role, with training provided for the tasks you undertake.
What you’ll do
- Assist with preparing, cooking and serving food and drinks, following training and food safety procedures.
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Support the preparation, service and clearing down of ad hoc functions.
- Keep kitchen, dining and hospitality areas clean, tidy and ready for use.
- Receive deliveries, replenish stock and store items safely.
- Handle payments accurately when required.
- Support retail units, including serving customers, replenishing shelves and keeping displays tidy.
- Support cleaning teams, carrying out general cleaning in communal areas, accommodation and other allocated spaces.
- Work flexibly across different units onsite, following your team leader’s direction.
- Follow health, safety and hygiene procedures, reporting equipment faults or concerns promptly.
What you’ll bring
- A friendly personality and enthusiasm for catering, hospitality and customer service.
- A positive, reliable approach and willingness to learn.
- Willingness to support other units, including retail and cleaning, when required.
- Availability to work varied shifts across five days out of seven, including weekends, with flexibility to support functions.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to cleanliness, presentation and safe working practices.
Previous experience isn’t essential — we’ll provide training to help you feel confident in your duties.
