Location: The Ridge Primary School, Gregory Rd, Stourbridge DY8 3NF & Ridgewood High School, Park Rd W, Wollaston, Stourbridge DY8 3NQ — a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as you will be required to travel between the two school sites.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 11:00am–2:00pm
Contract: Term Time Only – 38 weeks, Permanent, Part Time

Join Sodexo as a Food Service Assistant, supporting catering operations across Ridgewood High School (Secondary Hub) and The Ridge Primary School (Feeder School). You’ll start your day at Ridgewood High School before travelling to The Ridge Primary School to support the catering service there.

You’ll be part of a friendly catering team, helping to deliver high-quality food and service to pupils and staff across both schools. This is a varied role where you’ll work across both school environments and support the teams where needed.

Your flexibility, reliability and positive attitude will help ensure both schools receive a welcoming and consistent catering service.

About the Role

As a Food Service Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy food service operation. From preparing and serving food to keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly.

You’ll work as part of a supportive team delivering great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors

• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks
• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay
This role works 38 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
