About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Instructor to deliver engaging English and literacy classes at HMP Addiewell within a secure custodial environment. You will support learners of varying abilities and backgrounds to develop essential communication, literacy, and employability skills that aid personal development and rehabilitation.

The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing lessons, maintaining accurate records, and tracking learner progress to ensure positive outcomes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals’ futures.

Addiewell is a high‑security establishment focused on helping individuals change the direction of their lives. We prioritise addressing offending behaviour through targeted programmes and close work with professionals, while providing education, training and employment opportunities that build practical skills. We also work with community partners to support positive futures after release.

Sodexo has a culture built on three hallmarks: Be Positive, Be Courageous and Be the Difference. We encourage people to be positive by creating hope and respect in every interaction, to be courageous by safely challenging behaviours that don’t support a positive environment, and to be the difference by taking actions that improve outcomes for those we support.

By living these hallmarks each day, you help build routines, rituals and behaviours that show what good looks like. You recognise and encourage the right actions, and you lead with intention - knowing every moment of connection counts.

Join Sodexo and be part of something greater.

You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.
