Working closely with the Engineering Lead and Facilities Management team, you'll be responsible for ensuring maintenance operations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of compliance and customer service.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine your technical expertise with your people management skills to drive performance, safety and continuous improvement.

  • Leading and supervising a team of engineers across the campus
  • Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Coordinating engineers, subcontractors and specialist contractors to ensure effective service delivery
  • Acting as the key point of contact for engineering activities within student residential buildings
  • Supporting the safe operation of all M&E systems, plant and associated infrastructure
  • Overseeing permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work
  • Managing compliance documentation, audits, risk assessments and health & safety requirements
  • Monitoring contractor performance and quality checking completed works
  • Ordering materials, managing stock levels and maintaining critical spares
  • Supporting recruitment, inductions, training and development of engineering staff
  • Assisting with performance management, appraisals and workforce planning
  • Acting as a technical expert, solving problems and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting campus-wide engineering projects and operational requirements
