We are now seeking an Multi Skilled Technician/Engineer to join our team at DEFRA BCP, Sevington, Kent, TN25 6GE
What you’ll do:
- Carryout PPM and reactive repairs as required in line with skill set and qualifications.
- General handyman tasks as required, to include basic building fabric maintenance and repair.
- Replacement of light bulbs and other unskilled mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Assist in ensuring all records are kept in line with company procedures.
- Collaborative working with other team members.
- To be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety and the Environment on work activities to ensure actions comply in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements.
- To comply at all times with the Company's Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Procedures and to ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the Industry's best practices.
- Ensure issued PPE, tools and equipment is in a safe and good working order.
- Attend training sessions, toolbox talks and meetings as required.
- To ensure that all areas in which work is undertaken are kept in a clean and tidy condition,

Essential
- Qualification in or Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Building Services
- Experienced Engineer with at least 5 years’ relevant post experience in a similar environment
- Able to diagnose faults and put forward and complete appropriate rectification measures
- Able to establish necessary parts/plant/materials necessary for completion of tasks
- Ability to Multi-task across mechanical, electrical and building discipline’s at a basic level
- Experience of working within a Building Maintenance Organisation
- A good understanding of the interrelationship between assets and their maintenance and lifecycle requirements.
- Flexibility with shift rotations – Days & night shifts.
- Able to represent Sodexo both internally and externally with clients
- Take part in out-of-hours duty roster/on call
- Pass the Baseline Personnel Security Standard vetting which includes DBS certification
- Hold a valid UK driving license
Desirable
- Additional qualifications and experience in other building-related trades would be advantageous
- Asbestos Awareness
- CSCS Certificate
- Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent experience in an Engineering or Building discipline.
- Experience with Personal Digital Assistant (PDA’s) systems
