Join Sodexo as a Multi Skilled Operative (Security) at Sevington Inland Border Facility, where you’ll help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for colleagues, customers and visiting drivers.
Combining security, customer service and practical site support, this is a varied, active role. From patrolling the premises and managing vehicle movements to responding to incidents, you’ll play an important part in keeping the site running smoothly.

What you’ll do
- Patrol and monitor the premises, remaining alert to security concerns and potential hazards.
- Help manage vehicle movements, traffic flow and parking to support safe and efficient site operations.
- Provide a professional, helpful point of contact for drivers, visitors, colleagues and customers.
- Respond calmly to incidents and difficult situations, following site procedures and escalating when needed.
- Support the site management and Rapid Response teams during busy periods, unexpected incidents and colleague breaks.
- Assist with responses to spills and other environmental incidents, following training and site procedures.
- Report accidents, near misses, faulty equipment and security concerns promptly and accurately.
- Support practical site duties, including manual handling and cleaning-related tasks where required.
- Work closely with colleagues and client teams, maintaining clear communication and high service standards.
- Take part in training to develop your knowledge of site operations, safety and security procedures.
What you’ll bring
- A valid SIA Security Guarding licence – essential.
- A CCTV licence – desirable.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
- The ability to work independently, use your initiative and contribute positively to a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a calm, practical approach to solving problems.
- Good numeracy and IT skills, including proficiency in the main Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to carry out manual handling duties associated with equipment and cleaning tasks, following safe working procedures.
- A flexible approach to supporting different duties across the site.
Previous experience within a facilities management environment would be an advantage.
