Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Communications Manager – Government Agencies & Energy to join our team and help shape the communications that define who we are and the impact we make. If you’re an experienced communicator who loves bringing complex work to life, building strong relationships, and creating content that truly connects with people, this is an opportunity to make your mark.

In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of a communications strategy that supports our growth ambitions, drives employee engagement and strengthens our reputation across our Government Agencies & Energy business. You’ll craft compelling, meaningful content for multiple audiences that raises the profile of the segment and Sodexo UK&I, working closely with clients, operational teams, and our Brand & Corporate Affairs function to ensure every message is engaging, impactful and reaches the right audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the communications strategy to support the Government Agencies & Energy’s, growth, engagement and reputation ambitions.
  • Create targeted client communications (this could include newsletters and contract specific updates).
  • Support contract mobilisations with clear, multi audience communication plans.
  • Deliver high quality internal content to inform, inspire and engages employees.
  • Support and deliver internal communication events such as virtual townhalls.
  • Develop external content including case studies, press releases, blogs, award entries and social media posts.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness, optimising strategies to maximise impact.
  • Work with PR teams to anticipate and manage reputational issues.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
  • Promote segment content across internal and external channels.
  • Works with teams within Government Agencies & Energy to empower colleagues with the skills and confidence needed to be effective communicators.

Job Requirements

  • A professional or higher qualification in communications or corporate communications is desirable.
  • Experience in comms support for complex change programmes with understanding communications to support employee transfer.
  • Desired knowledge of the FM industry
  • 5+ years’ communications experience, ideally with strong employee and client focused communications.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with the ability to create high quality content across multiple channels.
  • Strong editorial, digital, and content creation skills, including experience using content management platforms.
  • Experience working in a large or complex organisation and supporting change communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Creative, proactive, and detail focused with the ability to work independently.
  • Client focused mindset and curiosity to seek out compelling stories.
  • Basic design or video editing skills (advantageous).
