Commis Chef

TU Dublin Food Truck - Full Time

Please note: All successful applicants will be required to complete the necessary pre-employment checks, including Garda Vetting where applicable. Employment is conditional upon meeting these requirements.

What you'll do

• Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of fresh, high-quality food within the TU Dublin food truck operation.
• Support the day-to-day running of the food truck, ensuring an efficient and smooth food service.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with menu preparation in line with daily service requirements.
• Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored and served in accordance with food safety standards.
• Follow HACCP procedures, allergen management guidelines and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food truck.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with stock rotation and minimise food waste.
• Work closely with colleagues to deliver an efficient and customer-focused service.
• Support menu changes, daily specials and seasonal food promotions.
• Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained in good working condition.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support the wider catering operation

What you'll bring

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food preparation environment is desirable.
• A genuine passion for food, cooking and delivering quality food experiences.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of HACCP, food hygiene, allergen awareness and food safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A flexible, reliable and positive approach to work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
• Relevant culinary qualifications or food safety training would be an advantage.
