Job Description:

We’re looking for a professional and customer-focused Bar Steward to join our team and provide an efficient, friendly bar service to Mess Members.

You’ll be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and ensuring bar stock and cash are accurately controlled in line with company procedures.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide a professional and efficient bar service, serving wines, spirits, beers and other beverages.
• Ensure accurate measures, charges and excellent customer service.
• Maintain responsibility for cash, stock and bar records throughout each shift.
• Complete cashing-up procedures accurately and in line with company policy.
• Keep the bar clean, tidy and well presented, following the cleaning schedule.
• Check glasses and equipment are clean and ready for use.
• Monitor fridge and cooler temperatures and maintain required records.
• Assist with stocktaking and replenish bar stock as required.
• Support functions and events as required.
• Use equipment, machinery, cleaning materials and chemicals safely and correctly.
• Report equipment defects, safety concerns or other issues to the Line Manager.
• Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality, discretion and professional conduct at all times.
• Follow company Quality Control procedures and contribute to maintaining high standards.

What You Bring:

• Friendly, professional and customer-focused.
• Must be 18 or older due to licensing regulation
• Confident providing a high standard of bar service.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable handling cash and maintaining accurate records.
• Committed to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and personal presentation.
• Able to follow company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Discreet and professional when dealing with customers and sensitive situations.
• Flexible and willing to support functions and other operational requirements.
• Keen to develop their skills and contribute positively to the team.

Previous bar or hospitality experience would be beneficial.
