About the role

Own the assurance, judgement and risk decisions that protect every pre-employment journey

Sodexo is bringing recruitment compliance and pre-employment assurance into the centre of its transformed UK & Ireland Talent Acquisition model. The new service will be more proactive, more technology-enabled and more consistent, with specialist compliance capability embedded into the way recruitment is delivered.

As a Talent Acquisition Compliance Specialist, you will manage a portfolio of screening and vetting activity across differing regulatory, contractual and client requirements. You will not simply process checks or pass complex cases elsewhere. You will apply specialist judgement, assess risk, investigate exceptions, provide guidance and ensure every case reaches a clear and compliant outcome.

The role consolidates and broadens activity previously spread across compliance administration, safer recruitment and recruitment support. It offers wider UK&I exposure, greater case ownership and a direct contribution to audit, assurance and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Own a portfolio of pre-employment screening, vetting and recruitment-compliance activity from initiation to confirmed outcome.
  • Determine the checks and evidence required by the role, contract, client and regulatory environment and ensure they are completed on time.
  • Apply specialist judgement to exceptions, discrepancies and complex cases rather than treating compliance as a checklist exercise.
  • Identify, assess and document risk, escalating material concerns clearly and at the right point.
  • Conduct quality-assurance reviews and support audit activity across recruitment and pre-employment controls.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready records across systems and supporting documentation.
  • Provide clear, practical guidance to recruiters and hiring managers on screening, vetting and safer-recruitment requirements.
  • Monitor changes to legal, regulatory, contractual and client requirements and help translate them into working practice.
  • Use case data and recurring issues to identify control gaps and recommend service or process improvements.
  • Handle sensitive candidate and employee information with discretion, professionalism and strong data discipline.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in HR, recruitment, compliance or pre-employment screening with sound knowledge of vetting requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with risk awareness and the judgement to resolve or escalate appropriately.
  • Experience applying policies, controls and compliance requirements consistently across varied cases.
  • Confidence explaining complex requirements and providing practical guidance to stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage sensitive casework, competing priorities and deadlines with discretion and accuracy.
  • Experience using systems, case data and reporting to manage compliance activity and identify themes.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to contribute to audit, assurance and stronger controls.
  • The flexibility to travel across UK&I for audits, training, assurance and stakeholder activity.
