Location: Maidenhead Town Centre
Rate of Pay: £17.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
Start Date: Early to mid-October

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join the opening team at a brand-new corporate workplace in Maidenhead (Opening October).

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new kitchen from the beginning, working within a state-of-the-art, environmentally focused building with a modern food offering.

The food concept will focus on contemporary recipes and quality food, while the site will also host events, hospitality and special visits, meaning there will be opportunities to showcase your skills across a variety of cuisines and service styles – some some flexibility is needed.

You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and will be responsible for deputising in their absence, helping to ensure the kitchen delivers consistently high standards.

What you’ll do

• Prepare, cook and serve food in line with recipes, specifications and customer requirements.
• Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence.
• Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and catering operation.
• Lead on due diligence documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure food safety and allergen procedures are followed at all times.
• Support menu planning and ordering when required.
• Assist with hospitality preparation, cooking and service.
• Support ad hoc events and adapt to different service requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food presentation and service.
• Assist with stock receipt, storage and stock rotation.
• Monitor and report food safety, health & safety or pest concerns.
• Ensure catering equipment is used safely and correctly.

• What you’ll bring

  • A professional chef qualification, ideally NVQ Level 2/3.
  • Previous experience working within a corporate or hospitality environment.
  • Strong food preparation and presentation skills.
  • The confidence to deputise for a Head Chef when required.
  • A strong understanding of food safety and allergen management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high personal hygiene standards.
  • The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
  • A customer-focused approach and the flexibility to support different types of events and hospitality.
