Job Introduction
At Sodexo Live!, we create exceptional moments, from thrilling racedays to unforgettable conferences, hospitality experiences and private events. We’re now looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Hamilton Park Racecourse.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is ready to take the next step within a globally recognised organisation that values innovation, teamwork and development.
Supporting the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of all kitchen operations across:
- Raceday hospitality
- Conferences & events
- Banqueting & private functions
- Non-raceday catering activity
You’ll help lead and inspire the kitchen team to consistently deliver outstanding food quality, exceptional presentation and memorable guest experiences across every service.

What You'll Do
- Support the delivery of exceptional food across racedays, hospitality suites, conferences, banquets and private events
- Assist the Head Chef in leading day-to-day kitchen operations within a busy, fast-paced environment
- Prepare and present high-quality dishes to consistently high standards of taste and presentation
- Lead, motivate and support casual and permanent kitchen team members during service
- Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and company standards at all times
- Help create innovative seasonal menus and fresh event catering concepts
- Maintain strong organisation and efficiency during high-volume service periods
- Build positive relationships with colleagues across culinary, front-of-house and venue teams
- Support stock control, food ordering and minimising waste to achieve cost targets
- Contribute to a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork, creativity and guest satisfaction
What You Bring
- Previous experience in a high-volume hospitality, events or banqueting kitchen
- Experience within stadia, racecourse, hotel or event catering operations (preferred)
- A passion for fresh food, creativity and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and team-working abilities
- Good knowledge of food safety and compliance standards
- Relevant culinary and food safety qualifications
