Sodexo is looking for a Retail and Leisure Manager to lead retail services at RAF Brize Norton.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a varied operation across a large military site. From welcoming café spaces to retail outlets, you’ll help create places where service personnel can relax, recharge and enjoy great service.

What you’ll do
You’ll oversee daily operations across the Junior Ranks Mess, café outlets and leisure services, bringing energy, organisation and clear direction to your team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing colleagues, managing recruitment, induction, training and performance.
- Delivering welcoming, efficient service and maintaining high standards across your areas.
- Driving sales through promotions, marketing initiatives and improvements to the customer offer.
- Managing budgets and financial processes, including stock management, cash controls, labour costs and waste reduction.
- Working with the catering team to plan and deliver functions, including menus and costings.
- Championing a safety-first approach, maintaining health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards.
- Building strong relationships with customers, clients and the wider site team.
- Resolving day-to-day challenges and identifying practical ways to improve services.
What you’ll bring
- Experience managing a retail store and/or café bar.
- Experience leading and developing a team.
- A safety-first approach to management, with knowledge of health and safety and food safety.
- Experience of budget control and financial processes, including cash and stock management.
- A strong customer service focus and confident communication skills.
- The ability to organise workloads, solve problems and take initiative.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience managing client relationships or working within a military environment would be advantageous.
Working arrangements
You’ll work 40 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs, including occasional evenings or weekends.
As the role is based on a military site, the successful candidate must undergo and successfully complete the required security vetting.
