The role is based from Broxburn with regular travel to other sites including Cluny Bond (Kirkaldy), Menstrie (Clackmannanshire), Bonnybridge (Falkirk) and Glasgow.

Business mileage is reimbursed from your main base at Broxburn in line with company policy.

Any hours worked in addition to your contracted 42 hours will be paid as overtime, in line with business requirements.

We're looking for a professional, adaptable and customer-focused Relief Security Officer to join our Corporate Services team, providing cover across multiple client sites such as central sites, Fife sites and possibly Glasgow sites. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in different environments and thrives on delivering outstanding service.

What you’ll do

  • Providing a professional and visible security presence across multiple client sites.
  • Travelling throughout the Fife area to provide planned and emergency cover as required.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to employees, visitors, contractors and clients.
  • Managing access and egress, checking identification and issuing visitor passes and security badges.
  • Operating reception and handling telephone enquiries professionally.
  • Carrying out internal and external patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Locking and securing buildings, conducting end-of-day checks and ensuring site integrity.
  • Responding to incidents, emergencies, fire alarms and first aid situations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Completing accurate incident reports, documentation and daily logs using company systems.
  • Supporting Facilities teams with additional duties when required.
  • Reporting hazards, security concerns and health and safety issues promptly.
  • Ensuring all visitors and contractors comply with site rules, including PPE requirements.

What you bring

We're looking for someone who understands that great security is about much more than protecting a site, it's about delivering a professional, welcoming and customer-focused service every day.

  • You'll have:

    • Previous experience in a security or customer-facing role.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • A professional, courteous and approachable manner.
    • Strong IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office, security systems and completing electronic reports accurately.
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
    • The ability to remain calm, make sound decisions and follow procedures under pressure.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload.
    • A flexible approach and willingness to provide cover across multiple locations, including holidays and sickness.
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • A clear understanding of confidentiality and the importance of handling sensitive information appropriately.
