Join Sodexo as a Cook at Holbeck Approved Premises, where you’ll prepare nutritious, enjoyable meals for residents and staff in a residential setting.
Approved Premises support people released from prison, providing enhanced supervision and supporting their rehabilitation in the community. Your work will help create a welcoming environment, with regular, well-prepared meals forming an important part of daily life.
This is a lone-working kitchen role, so you’ll need to be comfortable working independently, organising your day and taking responsibility for food preparation, service and kitchen standards. You’ll also work closely with site staff to keep things running smoothly.
What you’ll do
- Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with scheduled menus and residents’ dietary requirements.
- Organise your workload to ensure meals are ready and served on time.
- Keep the kitchen, equipment and dining areas clean, safe and hygienic.
- Monitor stock levels and replenish ingredients and essential kitchen supplies.
- Follow food safety, health and safety, and lone-working procedures.
- Communicate with site staff about meal arrangements and day-to-day requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in a cooking or catering role, with a sound understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures.
- Confidence running day-to-day kitchen tasks independently.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
- A respectful, professional approach when working with residents and staff.
- Clear communication skills, reliability and pride in delivering a good service.
