Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of safety and reliability within a healthcare environment? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Decontamination Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

In this crucial role, you will support the operation and maintenance of essential engineering plant, equipment, and services across our Trust properties. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with practical maintenance skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and compliant decontamination services. If you possess a proactive mindset, a strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to a vital healthcare function, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist maintenance and repair of decontamination equipment
  • Support PPM schedules and inspections
  • Carry out basic fault finding and escalating issues
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness
  • Assist contractors and service providers
  • Maintain records and documentation using the CMMS system (Maximo)
  • Follow health and safety procedures
  • Assist with general estates maintenance tasks
  • Participate in training and development

What You Bring:

  • Qualified to a minimum of 5 grade (C Grade) at Maths, English and Science
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems
  • Practical hands on maintenance skills
  • Good organisational and record keeping ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Willingness to undertake training and development
  • Experience in a healthcare, estates, or maintenance environment
  • Familiarity with decontamination or sterilisation equipment
  • Awareness of HTM guidance
  • Relevant vocational qualification for example NVQ level 2 or 3
