About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled M&E Shift Engineer to join our engineering team based at the prestigious Shell Centre in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanically biased engineer with strong electrical knowledge to work within a high-profile corporate environment, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a complex commercial site.

A key feature of this role is the opportunity to work with the site’s innovative river water cooling system, a unique and sustainable engineering solution that plays a critical role in the building’s operation. This provides excellent exposure to advanced building services technology within a flagship London development.

Working as part of a professional on-site engineering team, you will support the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical building services, ensuring compliance, reliability, and exceptional service delivery at all times.

This role offers a strong mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works within a technically diverse environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems
    • Maintain and support the River Water river cooling system and associated plant
    • Fault finding, repair and testing of M&E and public health systems
    • Complete statutory and mandatory maintenance tasks in line with SLA/KPI targets
    • Update maintenance records and documentation via Maximo PDA
    • Support contractor management, permits, isolations and RAMS procedures
    • Participate in the call-out rota and support out-of-hours works where required
    • Assist the Shift Leader and wider engineering team in delivering a compliant and efficient service

What you’ll bring:

  • Recognised mechanical qualification or apprenticeship
    • Strong mechanical engineering background with additional electrical knowledge
    • Ideally 4–5 years’ experience within an M&E/building services or commercial environment
    • Experience working on boilers, pressurisation units, cooling systems, pumps, HVAC, water and public health systems
    • Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across M&E assets
    • Good understanding of health & safety and compliance procedures
    • Previous experience as a Competent Person or Authorised Person would be advantageous
