We have fantastic opportunity for Logistics Supervisor to join the team at Edinburgh Zoo.
The role is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of site stores and logistics while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality control, and hygiene in line with Heritage Portfolio policies. The position involves receiving and checking deliveries, managing stock levels, rotating stock, and ensuring the correct storage and disposal of food and drink waste. The role also requires transporting goods across the site to keep units fully stocked during busy periods and assisting kitchen management with stock takes.
In addition, the position involves liaising with suppliers to resolve any issues related to product quality, specifications, quantities, and delivery schedules. The individual must ensure that adequate levels of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and disposables are maintained while actively monitoring and reducing wastage. Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and under pressure. The role also supports the implementation of health and safety procedures, hygiene systems, and site security requirements, ensuring all client contractual obligations and operational standards are met before, during, and after events.

Assist with the receipt and checking of food deliveries into the site in line with Food Safety Management (FSM) procedures.
Maintain quality control, health & safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with Heritage Portfolio guidelines.
Ensure the correct storage, handling, and disposal of food and drink waste.
Carry out stores duties, including stock rotation and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
Transport goods across the site to ensure all units are stocked during busy periods.
Liaise with suppliers daily to resolve any issues related to product quality, specifications, quantities, or delivery times.
Assist kitchen management with stock takes and inventory control.
Ensure sufficient supplies of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and disposable items are available.
Monitor and control stock wastage, reporting any issues across the site.
