Are you reliable, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a busy kitchen team? We're looking for a Kitchen Porter to join us in Edinburgh, where you'll play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
In this role, you'll support the kitchen team with pot washing, cleaning equipment and work areas, managing waste, and ensuring crockery, utensils and equipment are clean and available when needed. If you're organised, have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
- Clean and wash dishes, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment, ensuring clean items are always available when needed.
- Keep the kitchen, pot wash and back-of-house areas clean, tidy, organised and hygienic throughout service, following cleaning schedules and maintaining required records.
- Support the kitchen team before, during and after service, working collaboratively with colleagues and assisting wherever required.
- Handle food waste, bins, deliveries and stock, including safely clearing waste, receiving and storing deliveries, and moving or putting away stock and equipment.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and health & safety, following HACCP, COSHH and company procedures, and promptly reporting hazards, defects or damaged equipment.
- Attend required training and meetings and carry out other reasonable duties as requested by management to support the smooth running of the operation.

- Able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- High standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and attention to detail.
- Able to follow instructions, cleaning schedules and company procedures.
- Physically fit for kitchen duties; previous kitchen/hospitality experience, Food Hygiene/HACCP and COSHH knowledge desirable.
