Stores and Distribution Operative - Casual

About the role   

At Sodexo, we run and efficient high-quality service for our patients and visitors behind the scenes! To provide this vital service we have a talented stores and distribution team behind us, and we currently have a vacancy for a Casual Stores and Distribution Operative.

You will be the go-to person….the one who will know where everything is and ensures the areas runs efficiently!

Once taking receipt of deliveries into the Warehouse, you will check and record the temperatures of all food storage areas. You will always ensure areas are maintained and efficiently performing, reporting any faults and non-compliances.

A few things about you 

It’s important to have a positive, approachable attitude as this is a customer facing role with supervisory responsibility. You will need to have strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate great teamwork.

As Sodexo embeds a strong Safety culture in everything we do, there will be procedures, site specific guidelines / requirements and regulations to follow.

With safety at the heart of what we do, you must have:

  • Level 1 CIEH food safety (or equivalent.)
  • Level 1 CIEH food hygiene (or equivalent.)

You will hold a C1 drivers’ licence with a minimum of 2 years’ experience is required. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 25 or over and must be in general good health. Applicants must also have a valid, driving licence with no more than 6 points on their licence.

You must be able to follow instructions and also have great computer skills (mainly the Microsoft packages; Word, Excel, Outlook).

You will need to be a keen learner, as you will have continuous training opportunities throughout your career. 

Role Responsibility

To ensure the company’s statutory regulations regarding hygiene, safety and cleanliness are complied with at all times.

 

2.           Completion of temperature records and cleaning schedules as required.

 

3.           Ensure quality standards are achieved at all times.

 

4.           Transfer goods from refrigerated area (-23 degrees at times) as required.

 

5.           Rotation of stock to ensure quality of food delivered to patients at all times.

 

6.           Decanting of frozen food and snack boxes as required.

 

7.           Ordering of frozen and dry goods as required.

 

8.           Undertake weekly stock checks.

 

9.           Delivery of bread and dairy products to wards on a daily basis.

 

10.         Delivery of special dietary requirements on a daily basis.

 

11.         Maintain hygiene records in line with HACCP regulations.

 

12.         Ensure that company’s cleanliness standards are adhered to at all times in relation to kitchen equipment and surrounding area to include sweeping and mopping of floors.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES :

 

 

13.         Removal of waste products to ensure safe and hygienic conditions at all times.

 

14.         Maintain PPE at all times.

 

15.         Answer incoming telephone calls and respond at all times.

 

16.         To treat colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all times.

 

17.         Flexibility in the need to assist within unit as required.
