As a Security Officer at North Devon District Hospital, you’ll play a key role in protecting patients, staff, visitors, and hospital facilities. No two days are the same, and each shift brings fresh challenges and real opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors

  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing support and resolving issues calmly and professionally

  • Operate CCTV systems in line with Trust procedures and assist with locking/unlocking secure areas

  • Escort patients, staff, and visitors when required, ensuring their safety and dignity

  • Liaise with emergency services and internal teams, providing clear communication and accurate incident reporting

  • Support the wider Portering & Support Services team during quieter periods and contribute to a positive working environment

  • Promote a culture of ZERO Harm by reporting safety incidents through SALUS and maintaining GDPR compliance

What You Bring:

  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Experience in working in a similar role
  • A SIA Licence holder 
  • Knowledge of security techniques.
  • Must be punctual and have the ability to think on their feet.
  • Reliable with excellent time-management skills
  • Must be flexible to work days, nights and weekends 
  • Able to respond to all emergencies swiftly 
  • Good written skills
