Regional Health and Safety Manager

Up to £60,000 DOE

What you’ll do:

• Lead the implementation of program elements/tools/machinery to ensure compliance with all in-country regulations and applicable company requirements (e.g., Chemical, Fire Safety programs).

• Provide technical and regulatory expertise in developing EHS continuous improvement processes and follow-up activities associated with EHS incidents, agency inspections, and internal/external audits.

• Support the development of the strategic EHS annual operating plans, assess site location performance, and determine necessary course corrections to achieve the plan.

• Conduct periodic location visits and EHS activities such as training, auditing, and assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Work collaboratively with Operations Managers, Global Health & Safety/Sustainability Lead, and other key leaders to reduce EHS risk across the organisation.

• Develop and perform risk assessments, assist in implementing effective control measures, and verify the efficiency of these measures.

• Participate in developing and analysing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to deliver outstanding EHS performance and ensure timely, achievable performance plans.

• Mentor leaders at all levels, using strong influencing skills to promote EHS goals and a strong EHS culture.

• Identify issues, mentor, and lead site locations in developing corrective action plans using recognised cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5-Why).

• Travel up to 50-75% as needed to ensure EHS targets are met.


What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Environmental, Health and Safety.

• 2-5 years of experience in a comparable EHS role, with knowledge and experience in EHS Management systems.

• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and analytical skills.

• Understanding and ability to articulate EHS requirements and regulations.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and presence in meetings and training environments.

• Professional maturity and the ability to act as a change leader.

• Ability to persuade, influence, and make formal presentations.

• Leadership and team development skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and make independent decisions.

• Excellent organisational skills and proficiency in using PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.

• Willingness to travel up to 50-75% depending on business needs.
