R&D Environmental and Sustainability Manger

Job Introduction

  • Engage with the client’s centre of excellence (CoE) to deliver sustainability initiatives to reduce total waste, water, and energy. 

  • Engage with the client’s centre of excellence to deliver sustainability initiatives to increase waste circularity.  

  • Ensure site compliance with environmental laws, and company/client standards. 

  • Undertake environmental audits on site.  

  • Report on environmental compliance and progress of sustainability objectives.   

  • Act as site subject matter expert for sustainability.     

  • Investigate any environmental incidents on site. 

  • Provide subject matter expertise to Sodexo and Client teams on site.  

  • Engage with Sodexo SME support to provide client with best practice in sustainability field

 

Role Responsibility

  • Develop and share long term sustainability strategy to support Sodexo and Client objectives.   

  • Drive the sustainability agenda with the site operational teams 

  • Develop and deliver a positive working culture that facilitates the generation on sustainability innovations.  

  • Work with site teams to develop pipeline of sustainability initiatives for delivery on site. 

  • Analyse, assess impact and develop sustainability proposals  

  • Ensure Sodexo is delivering the clients sustainability objectives  

  • Ensure all site waste contacts are supporting client sustainability objectives and providing value for money.    

  • Project Manage the rollout of sustainability initiatives  

  • Share innovation successes with other Sodexo accounts  

  • Develop and deliver environmental audit program (including 3rd party). 

  • Ensure all environmental audits and actions are recorded and tracked on SMS. 

  • Manage Sodexo ISO 14001 accreditation and associated systems on site.    

  • Report on site environmental compliance performance and sustainability progress.  

  • Attend relevant site meetings to update on sustainability performance.   

  • Provide expert waste advice to Sodexo and Client teams as required.  

  • Provide comprehensive waste data to site operational and client teams (including CoE) to support the identification of areas from improvement. 

  • Develop and support site sustainability community ensuring Sodexo operational teams are able to input and support and develop the sustainability agenda.    

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience delivering sustainability projects from conception to completion 

  • Experience of waste management   

  • Experience of working in a sustainability related field in a multi site/ multi discipline environment  

  • Working knowledge of UK Environmental Law    

  • Client facing experience  

  • Knowledge and understanding of main sustainability challenges in facilities management.    

Package Description

Up to £60,000 Depending on Experience + Benefits
