Plumber or Electrician
Job Introduction
As a Multi skilled Engineer (Electrician / Plumber bias, experience in both these areas is preferable, however not essential as we will be happy to consider experience in just one of these areas for the right person), at Sodexo in Royal Stoke University Hospital, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, you will be the go-to person, the one with the answers to everyone's questions, and the one who knows how to keep the facilities operating smoothly. You will have expert knowledge and technical skills to identify repair and/or expedite replacement needs across the Royal Stoke University Hospital estate.

What you’ll do:
- Provide plumbing and HVAC support.
- Supporting fault diagnosis, repair, and testing of all electrical plant equipment
- Adhere to statutory and regulatory legislation and company policy regarding Health & Safety
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within the hospital estate, carrying out a range of repairs and new works to a high standard.
- Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace
- Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff
What you bring:
- A willingness to learn new skills
- A positive “can-do attitude”
- Good communication both written and verbal.
- Experience in a regulated working background
- Technical qualification in a recognised trade
- Experience in some, or all of these areas preferred, but not essential as training will be given
- HVAC
- Replacement/maintenance of Bearings, Pulleys, Motor
- IPS and/or BMS
- Plumbing, Heating, Pipe Fitting
- Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
- Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills
- Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure

Package Description
- 40.25 hrs per week
- Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 2 shifts working 07:00-19:00 and 2 shifts working 19:00-07:00
- Rate of pay: £14.94 - £15.41 per hour with rate of pay enhancements during the following times:
- 20:00 - 06:00 and 24:00 - 24:00 on Saturdays time plus 30%
- 24:00 - 24:00 on Sundays and Public holidays time plus 60%
