Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Bias)

Job Introduction

As a Multi Skilled Engineer (HVAC Bias) at Sodexo you'll be a key player in maintaining the safe operation and repair of Mechanical Building Services equipment. Your expertise will ensure the seamless delivery of maintenance activities, contributing to the overall success of our Technical Services team.
 
What you’ll do:
  • Undertake inspections, planned, and reactive maintenance activities on a variety of Mechanical Building Services equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and client satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Services team to ensure the safe operation and repair of all M&E and building services and fabric equipment on-site.
  • Participate in weekend/out-of-hours working to complete intrusive maintenance activities and provide 24/7 emergency call-out support for urgent facility faults.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders issued via the CAFM system and adhere to the Sodexo Permit to Work/Authority to Work Systems.
  • Troubleshoot system failures and equipment malfunctions, maintaining a safe and clean work area.
  • Supervise 3rd Party Suppliers on-site to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Proactively identify faults with building services equipment and propose improvements to minimize disruption to facility operations.
  • Maintain professional communication with client staff members regarding service levels and issues.
 
What you bring:
  • City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering.
  • BS 7671:18th edition (Beneficial).
  • Gas Safe Certified (Beneficial).
  • Experience in delivering planned & reactive maintenance and installation work.
  • Proficiency in using BMS for operation of services and fault finding.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, use of PDAs for managing CAFM Work orders).
  • Valid UK Driving License.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear updates on work in progress to customers and building users.
